The TeamWorks team of Nathan Ferrell, William Mullet and Adam Hill, all Seneca East High School graduates, and Clayton Dryfuse, a Columbian High School graduate, recently won the national contest.
Hill said they were trying to build a kitchen mock-up. Ferrell said their goal was to be efficient as a team, stick together, keep up their confidence and get the job done efficiently.
"We had 100-percent confidence, and we worked as a team," he said.
Mullet described winning gold as "awesome, amazing, " and Dryfuse said winning the top prize was a little overwhelming at first. They entered the program as juniors and set goals, which included winning at nationals.
"We've achieved our goals," Mullet said.
