Seneca East High School has once again made Newsweek Magazine’s “Beating the Odds” list for top achieving high schools in the country. This list “seeks to identify schools that do an excellent job of preparing their students for college while also overcoming the obstacles posed by students at an economic disadvantage.” To make this list, schools are evaluated in many areas including poverty rates, graduation rates, college-bound numbers, AP enrollment, ACT averages, and CCP enrollment. On this national list, Seneca East registered at #393. In the United States, there are approximately 37,100 public and private high schools, which lands Seneca East easily within the Top 2% of high schools in the country that are beating the odds. Further, Seneca East is listed as #29 when considering only Ohio schools. There are 1,453 public and private high schools in Ohio ranking Seneca East also in the top 2% within the Buckeye state. This is an award that can be shared by all teachers and school staff along with the students themselves and the supportive families of the Seneca East school district. Congratulations to all!
