Seneca East biology teacher, Jon Darkow, has been named the 2016 recipient of the Outstanding Biology Teacher Award for Ohio. Each year, the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT) recognizes an outstanding biology educator (grades 7-12) in each of the 50 states; Washington, DC; Canada; Puerto Rico; and overseas territories. As part of the award, Jon Darkow will receive a complimentary one-year membership to NABT and a gift certificate from Carolina Biological Supply Company. Congratulations to Jon Darkow on winning this prestigious award!
This year through Pep Club we acknowledged the student athletes that participated in three sports. We started a group called the "Triple 3 Athlete Club." The goal is to recognize the students who participate in all three sporting seasons while also meeting their educational requirements. The athletes are:

Seneca East students have visited a variety of places this spring! First graders visited Garlo Park and The Pickwick Place; second graders visited the Toledo Zoo; third graders visited the Imagination Station; fifth graders visited Lyme Village; National Honor Society went to Rutherford B. Hayes Home and Museum; Book Club went to LitCon2016; Student Council went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; Spanish classes went to the Toledo Museum of Art; and FCCLA went to the Ronald McDonald House.
